Adult Autism Assessment Milton Keynes
Adults may consider an autism assessment after reflecting on experiences that stretch back
through school, further education, work and relationships. They may recognise a strong need for
predictability, sensory preferences, deep interests, direct communication or the effort involved in
interpreting social expectations.
An adult autism assessment allows you to describe those experiences in your own words. The clinician considers both earlier life and the present day,
including what helps you feel settled, productive and understood.
For many adults, the value of assessment is in connecting patterns that previously seemed
unrelated. A clearer understanding can support self-knowledge and provide a practical basis for
conversations about adjustments, routines and wellbeing.

Autism Assessment Milton Keynes for Children
Our child autism assessments in Milton Keynes consider development and everyday experience
across the places that matter to the child. Parents and carers may have noticed a strong
preference for routine, distinctive communication styles, focused interests, sensory preferences or a need for more preparation around change.
These features can look different at home and in education. A child may be highly comfortable in
familiar routines but use more energy in busy or unpredictable settings. Gathering information
from more than one source helps the clinical team understand that variation.
A private autism assessment in Milton Keynes can provide families with a clearer
description of the child’s profile and practical recommendations. The report can support shared
understanding between the child, family and the people involved in education or daily support.
When Autism and ADHD Appear Together
Some people recognise elements of both autism and ADHD. The combination can create an
individual pattern rather than a simple list of two sets of traits. Someone may appreciate routine
but also seek novelty. They may enjoy social connection while needing time alone to recover from
busy environments. They may be highly organised in one area and less consistent in another.
Combined autism and ADHD assessments are available where both profiles appear relevant.
Looking at them together can provide a more joined-up understanding and help
recommendations reflect the person’s full experience.
If you are not sure whether a separate or combined pathway would be more appropriate, our
team can talk through the options before you book.
